La Forge is a delightful 100-year-old cottage offering rural charm and character located in the rural village of Eance in Southern Brittany.
The cottage is available for self catering holidays all year round and is the ideal base from which to explore the area. Children are most welcome and there is plenty of space for the to play in outside in the safe, enclosed garden.
The cottage is situated in the heart of this traditional village and overlooks the picturesque square and church. It is fully equipped with three bedrooms sleeping up to 6 adults.
At the rear of the property there is a terrace and BBQ area overlooking the garden with views towards the open countryside. There is a large, secure barn attached to the cottage for storage of bicycles or motorbikes and additional off road parking for 2 cars.
The village offers a true taste of rural France where you can discover a traditional way of living. Wake up to the chimes of the church bells calling the workers to the fields, then stroll across the square to the local boulangerie for fresh baguettes and warm croissants.
After a day of sightseeing, relax with a glass of wine at Chez Ginette, the local bar where you will receive the warmest of welcomes. The bar also offers an excellent lunchtime menu.
The bilingual English owners live in the next village and are available for any help or advice you may need during your stay.
The cottage is reserved for non-smokers and we regret that we are unable to accommodate pets.
The surrounding area is a mixture of rolling countryside, ancient forests, medieval chateaux and bustling market towns with plenty of activities that the whole family can enjoy.
The North and West costs of Brittany are accessible for day trips as is the Loire Valley with its famous chateaux and wine routes.
La Forge offers a true taste of French life and is the ideal location for a relaxing family holiday or activity break.
The local area is ideal for fishing, cycling and walking holidays.
The cottage is beautifully furnished with all the comforts of home. There is electric central heating and a wood burning stove for the cooler winter nights. Logs and all electricity are included in the rental cost and you do not need to bring your own line as good quality linen is also provided.
There are 3 bedrooms; two doubles and one twin, allowing flexible sleeping accommodation.
The kitchen has patio doors leading to the garden and terrace, and is fully equipped with all modern amenities to cater for your stay, including washer/dryer, electric oven and ceramic hob.
The dining room has a large, farmhouse table and a cosy wood burning stove.
The living room overlooks the church and is a snug, comfortable room with English satellite TV, DVD player and a library of films, books and games.
The bathroom is on the ground floor and consists of a shower, wc, sink and heated towel rail.
To the rear of the cottage there is a terrace and BBQ area overlooking the safe, enclosed garden.
Attached to the cottage is a large, secure barn for storage of bicycles, fishing equipment or motorcycles, and there is off road parking for two vehicles.
Baby cots can be supplied on request.
We need to draw your attention to the fact that the church is a traditional, village church and there is a peel of bells at 7am, Noon and 7pm, with additional chimes on the hour and every 15 minutes during daylight hours. There are chimes on the hour during the night.
